Randomness Revisited – The theory behind the Big Bang and the Dirty Room
I have been a big fan of the second law of thermodynamics right through my school days. It talks about entropy - the degree of disorder or randomness in the system. The second law of thermodynamics states that the entropy of an isolated system never decreases, because isolated systems spontaneously evolve towards thermodynamic equilibrium—the state of maximum entropy. Entropy, in common terms may be defined as the degree of randomness. This to me is one of the few physical laws that define our psycho-somatic behaviour too. There is an inherent desire in our minds to move towards a region of randomness in our mental space. That is precisely the reason why it is so difficult to concentrate. Randomness is the most basic of the physical laws. The universe in itself follows the stochastic principle. Big Bang theory as postulated today mentions that the subject spread throughout the dark matter is travelling away from each other all the time. This phenomenon does not only rest wit...
